Taisa Vasilkova, DO

Dr. Taisa Vasilkova, DO, known as Dr. V, is a physician trained in family medicine and an aspiring psychiatrist with a passion for blending science, wellness, and creativity. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. V’s journey in medicine has been deeply shaped by her early life experiences—having lost both parents at the age of two, she was lovingly raised by her grandmother. Her resilience and compassion have carried through every stage of her career and personal life.

A graduate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. V completed her residency at St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, where she cared for diverse patient populations and championed the bio-psychosocial model of medicine. Her research on sleep apnea and autonomic nervous system activity was published in Cureus and earned recognition at academic conferences. She is an active member of the AOA, AAFP, and APA, reflecting her commitment to both osteopathic principles and the field of psychiatry.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. V is a content creator, medical writer, and model, known online as @glutenfreegirlie2025. She is particularly passionate about nutrition and lifestyle medicine, with a strong advocacy for the Mediterranean and gluten-free diets, both for personal health and as a tool for broader public wellness. As someone on the Celiac spectrum, she combines medical expertise with lived experience to raise awareness about gut health and the connection between the microbiome and brain development. She also contributes to Fig – Food Is Good, where she reviews restaurants based on dietary inclusivity.

A lifelong creative, Dr. V has played piano since childhood, enjoys reading, writing, and spending time outdoors, and values living authentically as a free thinker. She has recently expanded her work into high-ticket sales, marketing, and brand consulting, with a special interest in health and wellness companies, where she leverages her ability to connect with people and build trust.
